A Personal Story of Courage, Change, and Purpose
Many of you already know how deeply I believe in the power of dance to address the societal challenges of our time. In 2023, I produced the documentary Danse Demain (Dancing Tomorrow), created to raise awareness of the transformative benefits of dance for individuals, organizations, and communities. It also questions how integrating dance into corporate, health, and education systems can help solve pressing social and health issues.
If you knew my professional background, you might be surprised to see me here — as a filmmaker, dance advocate, podcaster, speaker, and energy healer — alongside my role as a leadership coach and entrepreneur. My career began in business school and led to eight years in the banking industry, working in Paris and London in roles spanning marketing, sales, operations, and consulting.
Driven by curiosity and ambition, I measured success through tangible achievements: hitting targets, earning top grades, and working for prestigious brands. At the time, I wasn’t fully conscious of the deeper story I was living or the “why” behind my choices.
From Suits to Steps: The Turning Point
The question I often hear — and first faced in 2020 — is:
“How did you go from banking to dancing?”
Banking is often seen as a world of grey suits, towering buildings, high-stakes decisions, and competitive energy — a space dominated by yang energy. Dance, in contrast, evokes agility, softness, creativity, inclusion, and connection — a yin energy that fosters collaboration and humanity.
Dance has always been a language I spoke, but as my professional life intensified, I stopped practicing. It wasn’t until I hit a wall — a burnout — that I found my way back to movement. Dance became an essential part of my healing process, helping me recover mentally, physically, and emotionally.
When I returned to dance with greater awareness, I began to see its profound benefits — not just for individuals, but for organizations and society at large.
Linking Inner and Outer Transformation
In my years as a consultant, I supported organizations through large-scale transformation projects. But I learned that external change cannot be sustainable without inner transformation. True leadership and organizational growth begin from the inside out.
That realization reshaped my mission. Today, through HUMAN·A·YA, I help leaders and organizations transform by integrating the wisdom of movement and the arts into their leadership culture. Whether it’s in the boardroom, on stage, or in a workshop, I bring the tools of embodied leadership to inspire change, improve well-being, and strengthen collaboration.
The Creation of Danse Demain
My journey ultimately led to the creation of Danse Demain, a global movement dedicated to promoting the healing and societal impact of dance. Over the past year, we’ve hosted screenings, workshops, and conversations around the world — from universities and health organizations to dance schools and cultural institutions.
Through Danse Demain, I aim to create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves, each other, and nature — unlocking creativity, resilience, and a deeper sense of humanity.
Why My Story Matters for Leadership
My path from banking to dancing is not just a career change — it’s a story of redefining success. It’s a reminder that true leadership is about alignment between who we are and how we lead. Dance has taught me that movement is not just physical — it’s emotional, mental, and systemic. And when leaders move differently, organizations evolve.
